The short answer
Add the cost of ingredients used, labor, packaging, and other order costs. Divide that total by one minus your target gross margin. Review taxes, delivery, payment fees, and market demand separately.
If ingredients cost $4, labor costs $20, and packaging costs $2, the order costs $26. At a 30% target gross margin, $26 ÷ 0.70 is about $37.1429, so a quote rounded up to cents is $37.15.
Calculate your cake recipe
Use compatible units for a package and the amount used. US cup, tbsp, and tsp are volume units; weight, volume, and item count cannot be mixed. This free calculation is not saved or sent to our server.

Use this result well
Enter purchased amounts, not recipe amounts
For a 2,000 g bag, enter 2,000 g and its full bag price, then enter only the grams used in this cake. The calculator allocates a fraction of the package cost to the order.
Count active order time
Include preparation, decoration, packing, and cleanup you actually perform. If several cakes share one prep session, allocate that time consistently rather than charging the whole session to each cake.
Treat the result as a starting quote
Check whether delivery, payment fees, waste, decorations, and taxes apply. Add costs you want included before calculating; then compare the result with what your buyers will accept.
